Music is in their blood which is also the addiction that keeps intensifying beyond itself. Each of these five guys bring something completely different to the music that is unique in a very psychotic yet sophisticated way. This is quite apparent on the upcoming 2005 CD/DVD release 'A Blueprint Of Suppression'. The project is an audio and visual journey through the psyche of five individuals who have been to the depths of hell and back. Chemical addiction, death, failed relationships and their own tripped-out psychosis paint a picture of what it is like to be one of them. They play metal music for a reason. Aside from the love of the music, it is a release of all of life's troubles that are dumped on them, and it shows in their music. With Jeph's eardrum-bursting screams, DC's intricate guitar work, Paul's down-to-the-depths-of-hell low bass, and Cam'slightning fast drums highlighted with the programming work of one of Omaha's top new studio producers, j3507; It's an audio landscape that will tear apart your eardrum and then put it back together for you so you can listen to them over and over again.
Downshift take this attitude with them to the stage and uses their live show as sort of a therapy session. The energy that they give to the crowd is given back to them i na symbiotic exchange of positive energy giving each side a positive release of negative energy. Destroying stages across the Midwest, they have made lasting impressions throughout many Midwest markets. It's only a matter of time before the coasts best be on the look out for this machine called Downshift.
Downshift has shared the stage with many great bands over the years including: Soulfly, Spineshank, Full Devil Jacket, The Union Underground, Dope, Stereomud, Beautiful Creatures, VAST, Bender, Slaves On Dope, Professional Murder Music, Five Pointe O, GravelBone, Shuvel, Static-X, Taproot and many others including major festivals throughout the Midwest.
This year, 2005, will prove to be the year of Downshift. There is no way you will be able to sidestep it this time. Until then, keep checking your rearview mirror...
